Welcome to the Agricultural, Environmental and Regional Economics (AEREC) graduate program at Penn State! The AEREC graduate program provides state-of-the-art training in economics and quantitative methods as applied to the food and agricultural system, natural resources and the environment, and regional economic development.

Students can pursue Master of Science (M.S.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees. We also offer dual-title degree options in Demography and in Operations Research.

Students work closely with an excellent faculty that has won numerous awards for research, teaching, and outreach. The AEREC graduate program attracts students from all over the world – Asia, Africa, Europe, Latin America, and North America. AEREC faculty members have conducted research and teaching programs in more than 50 countries worldwide.
